Ganderbal :- In a heart-wrenching incident, a 22-year-old youth lost his life after a branch of a chinar tree fell on him in Patti Rampora area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Tuesday.
According to officials, the deceased youth, identified as Umaan Akbar Ganai, son of Mohammad Akbar Ganai, a resident of Safapora Ganderbal, was passing by the area when the incident occurred.
Eyewitnesses said that some labourers were cutting the chinar tree in the area when a branch suddenly fell on Umaan, resulting in critical injuries to him. Despite being rushed to the district hospital Ganderbal, Umaan was declared dead on arrival.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and have initiated an investigation into the tragic incident.
As the residents of Ganderbal mourn the loss of a young life, they are demanding justice and accountability. The family of the deceased youth deserves a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the incident and to hold those responsible accountable.
“We are shocked and saddened by the loss of a young life,” said a local resident. “We demand a thorough investigation into the incident and want to know who is responsible for this tragedy. We want justice for Umaan and his family.”
The residents have expressed their frustration and anger towards the local authorities, saying that incidents like this can and should be prevented.
“We need stricter regulations during any tree pruning in our area,” said a local resident. “This should never have happened. We demand that the authorities take immediate action to prevent such incidents in the future.”
The family of Umaan Ganai is demanding justice and a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances that led to his untimely death.
“We want to know who is responsible for this disaster and ensure that those accountable are held liable,” said a family member of Umaan. “No family should have to suffer like us. We demand justice for Umaan and us.
In response to mounting pressure from the community, local authorities have taken cognizance of the situation. The Deputy Commissioner of Ganderbal has ordered a magisterial enquiry into the death of Umaan Akbar Ganie.
According to an official order, Mohammad Altaf Bhat, Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), has been appointed as the enquiry officer. He has been directed to submit a detailed enquiry report to the Deputy Commissioner’s office within a week’s time.
